blazing vauxhall tigra,
FIREFIGHTERS tackle a dozen car fires in Huddersfield every month.
The blazes mean that insurance companies are facing claims for tens of thousands of pounds for mindless arson attacks or thieves starting blazes to cover their tracks.
A Vauxhall Tigra was set alight at Thornfield Road in Lockwood at 10pm on Monday – and Examiner reader Graham Chadwick captured the moment Huddersfield firefighters tackled the inferno.
The car rolled about 150ft downhill before hitting a wall and fence after the flames burned through the handbrake cable.
