Man gets ticket for parking outside own house

TRAFFIC wardens have given a man a ticket for parking on his own land.

Simon Stead, 38, was amazed when he was given a £30 fine for parking outside his Linthwaite house, exactly as he has done for years.

Simon – who paid the fine – said: “I’ve lived here 15 years and I’ve always parked outside my house on my own land.

“In September Kirklees Council resurfaced the road outside my home and a cracking job they did, too.

“However, they moved the double yellow lines about two feet on to my land.
