Road is repaired, after almost 20 years!

Mrs Watson, 71, says: “All the road was breaking away and there were great big holes on the sides.

“Near where we live it had been dug up that many times instead of doing the job properly. It really was a mess.

“I don’t know why it’s taken so long. We’ve rung the council and taken photos.

“We couldn’t believe it when Kirklees admitted it was a bad road. Repairs are way after time, but I’m glad they’ve done them.”

A Kirklees spokesman said: the repair work would be followed by surface dressing.
