Teen charged with killing Mirfield man

A TEENAGER has been charged with manslaughter after the death of a former Mirfield man in an attack in North Yorkshire.

Martin Walker, 57, died on July 1 in Scarborough Hospital from a head injury which he suffered during the attack on June 23 in South Street.

Police said Mr Walker, a computer analyst originally from Mirfield, had recently got engaged and had a 19-year-old son.

An 18-year-old local man will now appear before a court next month in connection with Mr Walker’s death.

A 20-year-old man has been charged with threatening a woman in the same attack.
