Film-makers win in schools contest - watch the video

THEY’RE the budding Steven Spielbergs of the future!

Young film-makers from Huddersfield are celebrating after scooping top prizes in a national competition aimed at school-children.

Pupils from Scissett First School and Newsome Junior School proved they were the next generation of great film-makers when they beat other schools across the country to win categories at this year’s National Schools Film and Animation Awards.

The awards were handed out at a glittering ceremony at the National Film Institute in London.

The evening was presented by actress and broadcaster Floella Benjamin, who was also on the judging panel.

The national contest is held to celebrate the work that pupils are now doing in the classroom using video.
