Snow on the way ‘in the next 72 hours’

SNOW is on the way for Huddersfield.

Local weather expert Paul Stephens warned today: “Wrap up warmly, winter is here.”

His words came as he and other forecasters predicted a bitterly cold snap, with up to nine inches or 25cm of snow on the Pennine moors above Huddersfield.

And he warned there could well be an inch or two of snow in most areas over the next 72 hours.

Stephens, the Salendine Nook meteorologist, said: “Winter is well and truly here.

“We got a sharp frost yesterday and will have more of the same over the next night or two.
