Sports centre plans now on show in town

The designs were unveiled at Kirklees Council's Cabinet on Wednesday this week and show drawings of how the internal and external features might look.

The displays will show the proposed leisure water features which include a ‘sidewinder’, a flume, beach, wave machine, lazy river, play feature, and toddler pool. The plans will also show the layout of the other facilities which include two further swimming pools, spectator areas, changing rooms, sports facilities, climbing wall, squash courts, a fitness suite, children's play area and cafe.

The planned centre would be at Springwood, if plans for a huge Tesco store on the current site are approved.
