Card jobs saved by Town chairman buyout

Card Factory, which was established in 1997, already had about 400 stores employing some 4,000 workers UK-wide.

Spen Valley-based Mr Hoyle is chairman of the company, which has annual sales of £110m. Mr Hoyle replaces Ken Davy as chairman of Huddersfield Town next season.

Earlier this year, Card Factory donated £1m to Macmillan Cancer Support and enlisted ITV’s Coleen Nolan as the face of the charity drive. It is committed to raising more money for the charity over the next two years.

Administrators from insolvency firm Kroll Ltd were appointed to handle the affairs of Celebrations Group in October.
