Dog savages sheep in horrific night attack - shocking pictures

TWO sheep were savaged by a dog in Holmfirth.

The animals had to be put to sleep after being horrifically injured by a dog late on Monday night.

Janet and John Armitage were told by a vet about one sheep being injured and found another cowering beneath bushes after it was also attacked.

Both sheep belonged to their neighbour Bruce Roberts who agreed for them to be put down.

All three farmers are now asking people to keep their dogs on a lead to prevent any further attacks.

Mrs Armitage, of Cross Farm, Dunford Road, said: “I’ve been farming all my life and I’ve never seen anything as awful in my life.

“To see sheep that badly damaged was horrific, it’s ears were ripped off and you could see inside it’s head.

“It was kinder to put them both down than suffer through that.”
