NHS workers action over pay deal today

AS MANY as 500 NHS workers in Kirklees are today taking part in industrial action today.

But health bosses say it will cause minimal disruption.

Members of trade union Unite are ‘working to rule’ – only doing their contracted hours – in a dispute over pay.

They are refusing to do non-essential paperwork and email exchanges or attend routine meetings and take telephone calls.

Ambulance staff, paramedics, mental health nurses, speech and language therapists, health visitors, school nurses, laboratory workers, bio-scientists and maintenance staff are taking part in the action.
