Fire woman in hospital after flats blaze

A WOMAN was taken to hospital following a fire at Lonsborough flats near Huddersfield town centre.

A spin dryer set alight in one of the flats yesterday, sparking the blaze which led to respiratory problems for one woman as she fled the scene.

She was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary for a check-up, but her condition is not thought to be serious.

Two other women managed to get to safety away as firefighters arrived.
