IT'S got all the fun of the fair – on ice.
A bumper new attraction has launched at Huddersfield ice rink on the Piazza in Huddersfield town centre.
The rink, which officially opens today, is the only one in Yorkshire to have the bumper cars.
Kirklees Council cabinet members Clr Donald Firth and Clr Ken Sims took time out of their meetings for a lunchtime spin on the ice.
Clr Sims, cabinet member for regeneration, said the bumper cars – which will run from 4pm to 6pm until December 10 – were introduced to open up the rink to people who cannot skate.
“Last year, there were children that really couldn’t bring themselves to skate and we wanted them to have the experience of going on the ice,” he said.
