Lack of gritting ‘led to accidents’
RESIDENTS claim ungritted roads caused five accidents on one stretch of road in just two hours.
The accidents all happened on the A62 Manchester Road above Marsden on Saturday - and were followed by three more in other areas in the space of three hours.
Now, drivers are demanding to know why Kirklees Council did not act sooner.
The council claimed the road had been gritted on Friday and they were swamped with demands for more gritting on Saturday.
Five drivers lost control of their cars on the A62 outside The Carriage House pub in separate incidents.
