A HUDDERSFIELD engineering company has given £4,900 to local charities.
David Brown, of Lockwood, donated cash from a 148th anniversary open day in September.
The open day, which attracted 3,000 people, featured raffles, stalls, a second-hand book sale, children’s games and food from Hinchliffe’s Farm Shop, Netherton, which donated 5% of profits from the day.
It was organised by David Brown employee Andrea Ryder.
Staff nominated eight charities to benefit – Marsden Football Club Under 12s team, baby health charity Tommy’s, Huddersfield Support Group for Autism, Missing People, Huddersfield Youth Brass Ensemble Association and Friends of Lydgate School received £400 and Kirkwood Hospice and the Huddersfield NSPCC each received £1,250.
