Dieting mum-of-five dies after drinking too much water

A SERIAL dieter drank herself to death by downing up to four litres of water in just 90 minutes.
Jacqueline Henson, 40, died on November 15 last year from liquid on the brain after drinking the water while watching TV, a Huddersfield inquest heard.
The mum-of-five, of Highcroft Crescent, Almondbury, had lost more than one stone during the first three weeks of a strict diet.
The Lighter Life programme, which allows only the bare minimum of solid food, recommends drinking four litres of water a day.
Coroner Roger Whittaker recorded a verdict of accidental death yesterday.
But Mrs Henson’s sister, Pauline Nash, of Osborne Road, Birkby, said she was still angry.
“As far as I’m concerned, if she hadn’t been on that diet she would still be alive today,” she said.
“Nothing will bring her back, but I just want to warn other people so it doesn’t happen again.”
