People’s vote on Lepton village revamp

LEPTON residents are set to give their views on a proposed revamp of their village.

Liberal Democrat councillors have secured Kirklees Council funding to improve the village centre, known locally as The Square.

Plans are now being drawn up and it is time for residents to have their say on them.

The plans include redesigning the car park and adding benches, paving, lighting and litter bins.

The car park would be circular with 17 spaces and six parallel spaces, plus an extension car park of seven spaces for use by the church and surgery.

The new furniture and lighting would be modern in design and there is the possibility of an entrance feature, welcoming people to the village centre.
