Driver ‘forced off M62 by lorry’

“CCTV cameras do not cover the whole motorway and are default set on strategic locations, monitoring traffic flow and any incidents.

“Unless the camera was set in the specific location of Miss Mortimer’s car travelling past Junction 26, the CCTV footage would not have captured the incident.”

She confirmed that cameras only cover some parts of the busy motorway between Junction 22 at Ripponden and Junction 28 – the turn-off for the White Rose shopping centre near Leeds.

The spokeswoman added: “Between Junction 22 and 28 of the M62 we have a camera at Junction 22 and cameras between Junction 26 and 28.”
