Mum shopped her son for drink-driving

A MOTHER who shopped her 22-year-old son to the police after he stole the family car while twice the drink-drive limit encouraged other people to do the same.
Thomas Carr was yesterday banned from driving for 18 months after a court heard that mum Julie rang the police after seeing her son take the family’s Vauxhall Corsa.
Carr only held a provisional licence when he returned to his family home in Brighouse, in the early hours of September 21 nearly two-and-a-half times over the legal limit.
Carr was seen taking the family car keys by his mum, who watched her ‘sozzled’ son climb into the car and lock the doors.
Carr wouldn’t open the door to his worried mother and she only managed a short mobile phone conversation with him before he drove away, Calderdale Magistrates’ Court heard.
