Town centre traders to get green bins?

TOWN centre businesses could be offered help recycling.
Kirklees Council’s Cabinet will decide today whether to spend £30,000 supplying green bins to traders in Huddersfield.
Officers have suggested a six-month trial from early next year.
Businesses would be given 240-litre green bins to recycle cardboard, cans, paper and plastic bottles.
The bins are larger than the normal domestic wheeled bins.
Shops in Dewsbury town centre would be offered “appropriately-sized receptacles” for paper and cardboard.
The council’s Conservative Cabinet will decide today whether to support the proposal from Lib Dem and Green councillors.
Kirklees Green leader Clr Andrew Cooper hopes the idea gets the green light.
He said: “At the moment there’s no provision for businesses in Huddersfield town centre to recycle. This is a good way of getting more waste recycled.”
