They’re in the mood for big band treat!

THEY’RE both still smiling after family deaths, surviving the war years and struggling against adversity.

And Babs Bringloe and Pat Blezard are much-loved members of both their families.

So much so that Babs’ daughter, Liz Blezard, nominated her and her mum-in-law for a Christmas Wish as part of the Examiner’s Christmas Wish Campaign.

Liz said both women, who are in their 80s and live near each other in Netherton, deserved a special surprise.

And her wish for them was to see the Glenn Miller band to reminisce of times gone by.

Liz, of Goldcrest Court, Netherton, said: “My mum lost both her sons within two years of each other and lost my dad when he was 51. Pat has just lost her only sister.

“Both have worked hard all their lives and through the war years my mum was in the Wrens. They both deserve a Christmas treat.”
