Christmas Wish: Parents’ devotion to son

DEVOTED parents Becky and Stephen Ellis rarely get time to themselves.

Their 17-year-old son Daniel suffers from a rare genetic condition which means he needs 24-hour care.

The Rev Ann Sykes nominated the Netherton couple for a Christmas Wish as part of the Examiner’s Christmas Wish campaign which it runs annually with Huddersfield Pendragon Round Table.

She said she had never met such “unconditional love” shown by both parents.

She said: “Daniel needs 24-hour care, seven days a week. He cannot feed himself, speak or move. He was a normal little boy until he was three years old when he developed San Pierre syndrome, which is a genetic condition.

“I have never met such devoted parents. Becky spends many nights sat with Daniel when he is having a poor night and is exhausted the following day.
