Brian’s star still shines brightly!

Minister Norman Eales’ wife, Kath, has planned the play and service, which takes a traditional format with a modern-day twist.

She said it aimed to bring the Christmas story right up to the present day and to gather together the whole community.

“It is a traditional candlelit service with carols and readings,” she said. “There will be an adult Nativity tableau at the front of the church and speeches by Mary, Joseph, a king and a shepherd will feature in it.”

The service starts at 7pm tonight and all are welcome.

Christ Church on Woodhouse Hill in Fartown is holding a traditional Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at 6.30pm. Midnight Mass starts at 11.30pm.

On Christmas Day there will be services at 9am at St John’s, Birkby, its sister church, and 10.30am at Christ Church.
