Seasonal messages from local people in the Forces

THEY are a long way from home.

But Huddersfield people in the armed forces are still thinking of their families and friends this Christmas.

They have sent messages home to Huddersfield from Afghanistan and the high seas.

Thousands of British troops will be on duty over the Christmas holiday in troublespots such as Afghanistan and Iraq, but also on routine patrols in every corner of the world.

A Defence Ministry spokesman said: “Most will still enjoy a Christmas dinner, even if it’s not quite the same without family.”
