“Kathy was generous, kind, friendly, courageous and wise. An authentic person.
“She knew what her acting abilities were, and what they were not ... she knew who she was, where she came from and what truly matters in life,” the minister added.
“May we always remember that role; the best role she ever played in her life; an authentic woman of God.”
Her death means that Peter Sallis, who plays Norman Clegg, is the only one of Last of The Summer Wine’s leading members left alive.
As many of the actress’ fellow showbusiness colleagues could not be at the service due to commitments during the pantomime season a memorial service is planned for the new year.
