The funfair’s arrived - picture gallery

IT’S becoming a Huddersfield Christmas tradition, almost as much as turkey and tinsel.

Stewart Robinson’s family have been bringing their traditional funfair to the town for more than eight decades.

And despite their usual venue being out of action it has arrived again for a festive run.

The funfair set up home yesterday on the Cambridge Road car park and opened a nine-day run in glorious sunshine.

The fair’s traditional home is St George’s Square, but that is out of action for many months because of the multi-million-pound revamp.

But Mr Robinson and his fellow fairground workers are delighted with their new home, which is only three minutes walk from the square, as were the families flocking there yesterday.

The fair is made up of several “white knuckle” rides including Hard Rock and Buzz Bom.
