Jan 1 2009 by Neil Atkinson, Huddersfield Daily Examiner
ORGANISATIONS running holiday projects for Kirklees young people are being offered new funds.
Kirklees Young People’s Service has allocated £150,000 to invest in local school holiday activity programmes for eight to 19-year-olds in end-of-term and half-term holidays.
New “Commissioning packs” are available from January 9 and these give details of the types of activities covered, the amount of funding available for each locality in Kirklees and a two-part application form.
Those who wish to go on and make an application must do so by noon on January 30.
Holiday schemes could include:
Arts activities
Environmental activities
Adventurous activities
Sport and recreational activities
Activities which involve more than one community.
The total funding available for each locality will range from £1,786 to £11,731.
Organisations can apply for part of this funding.
If organisations are successful in the first round they will only need to complete a project form to apply for future rounds in the same year.
The grants programme is being managed by Kirklees Council’s Young People’s Service.
To get a pack, please email yps.projects@kirklees.gov.uk with the word “pack” included in the subject line or visit the webpage www.kirklees.gov.uk/ypholidayactivities or telephone Katy Wood on 01484 225044.
