Soccer club’s gifts for Africa

YOUNG footballers in Africa are to benefit from kits and equipment given by Holme Valley parents.
Andy Mason, a parent and coach at Hepworth United Juniors has given more than three bags full of used kits from last season, including shirts, socks and shorts, along with corner flags and shin pads.
The collection was handed to Huddersfield man Bart Turibamwe, who has passed it on to Come UK charity, which supports work with children in Uganda.
The kit will be transported free on British Airways flights in support of the charity’s activities in the African state.
Mr Turibamwe will be visiting youth projects in the Gulu region of Uganda in April.
He will be looking at the work of the charity in youth inclusion and developing sports skills.
