Mystery of body found on hillside

A MAN found dead on a steep Huddersfield hillside was clutching a tenner in his hand.

The Examiner can reveal that cash and a wallet were found next to his body at Primrose Hill.

The man has not been named as relatives are still being traced and told the bad news, but he is a 48-year-old who had been living at Berry Brow.

His body was spotted by Anna Kennedy as she looked out of her bedroom window on Cross Lane at 10.30am yesterday.

She immediately alerted her husband, Bill, who went to investigate with two neighbours, including retired textile foreman John Fenwick.

As soon as they approached the man they realised he was dead.

It looked as though he had lain down on his side with his head towards the top of the hill and his feet pointing towards the bottom.

His arm was outstretched and he was clutching the £10 note in his hand.
