Party fire drama

A NEW Year’s Eve celebration ended in problems for friends at Salendine Nook.

They were in a back room at a house on Laund Road enjoying a meal at 7pm when a candle in the lounge set fire to curtains.

The fire then spread to the window, cracking the pane.

The two couples used bowls of water to douse the flames before firefighters arrived. The house was smoke-logged.
