Bail for pair on manslaughter charge

TWO men will appear at Leeds Crown Court later this week, charged with killing a man in Ravensthorpe.

Both appeared before Dewsbury Magistrates’ Court charged with manslaughter in connection with a gas canister blast that killed a Batley man.

Father-of-five Timothy Donaghue, 35, received serious head injuries in the incident at Low Mills Lane, Ravensthorpe, on August 29 last year.

Mr Donaghue, of Arncliffe Road, died later that day at Dewsbury and District Hospital.

Matthew Dean, 24, and Phillip Jennings, 59, have both been remanded to appear at Leeds Crown Court on Wednesday.

Dean, of Ouzelwell Lane, Thornhill Lees, and Jennings, of Scafell Court, Hanging Heaton, were granted conditional bail.
