Man found slumped in doorway

POLICE closed down a busy road after finding a man slumped in a doorway in Batley.

They initially feared the man may have been attacked, having been found in the early hours of Saturday in Bradford Road.

But later tests revealed the 47-year-old from Manchester was suffering from a medical condition.

Details of the condition have not been made public, but the man is being treated at Leeds General Infirmary to establish how serious it is.

The busy Bradford Road was closed for almost eight hours.
