James May and Oz Clarke in town for TV show
Jan 6 2009 by Neil Atkinson, Huddersfield Daily Examiner
THE TV spotlight falls on Huddersfield again tonight.
TV personalities Oz Clarke and James May launch a new series, travelling the length and breadth of the UK in search of the best booze.
And in the first episode tonight they take in some of the pubs along the trans- Pennine railway line, abandoning their car.
Oz and James enjoy the beers in a string of real ale pubs on station platforms, including Huddersfield and Dewsbury.
Their tasting notes become as unreliable as the train timetable as the evening proceeds. But despite a spell of beer-fuelled bickering the evening ends peacefully.
The new series is called Oz and James Drink To Britain. They travel through Britain and Ireland to discover the amazing array of drinks on offer, for the delectation of a wine expert and an incorrigible scruffbag.
