“It is also about preventing, disrupting and detecting criminals intent on committing domestic burglaries.”
Kirklees commander Chief Supt John Robins added: “These local days of action support our approach to being visible in neighbourhoods, help us to take criminals off the roads and at the same time help us to successfully develop the police officers of the future.
“The student officers involved in this operation receive on-the-job, practical training which they would not normally receive in a classroom.
“It also allows experienced police officers to provide them with invaluable guidance and advice.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to put the skills they have learned into practice and also make a real difference to the people they come into contact with.”
