Appeal won for Kirkburton Tesco with 9 parking places
But Kirkburton Tory, Clr Christine Smith, slammed the decision and said she and fellow Kirkburton Area Committee member Clr Adrian Smith were shocked at the result.
She said: “We’re absolutely appalled, we can’t believe it.
“It’s another example of every one being against it in highways, planning and so on and then a government man has come along and ignored it all.
“I just don’t know how they are reaching these decisions, we just despair, both of us, we’re very upset.
“The planning inspector has taken no account of the extra parking.
“It’s bad enough as it is at the moment but with a mini Tesco it’s going to be horrendous.”
