POLICE have netted a £500,000 drug haul after swoops in Kirklees and Leeds. Teams of officers discovered £500,000 of suspected amphetamines, as well as £100,000 of cash and a stun gun in the raids which took place yesterday.Officers from Wakefield District Division CID, along with colleagues from the Operational Support Unit, mounted the operation at three locations in West Yorkshire. Three search warrants were executed in Cleckheaton, Batley and in Leeds. The operation was a follow-up to a raid in Wakefield in October last year where police found two-and-a-half tonnes of cannabis. The find was the result of a joint operation between West Yorkshire and Cheshire police. In the latest raids, the amphetamines were recovered at the Cleckheaton address along with a stun gun, while £100,000 in cash was seized in Leeds. A spokeswoman for West Yorkshire Police said: "A woman in her forties from Leeds has been arrested in connection with the matter and is detained at a police station in Wakefield to be spoken to by officers. "Further enquiries are still ongoing by Wakefield District CID." Read
