Hunt the driver who did this angry firm tells police

He said: “When the initial report came in it was via a second-hand account, with no actual witnesses to the incident contacting us and no details on the type of vehicle involved being available, other than that it was an HGV.

“However, a number of people are sure to have witnessed this incident and we would appeal for them to contact us.

“We would like to speak to the driver about the circumstances surrounding the collision.

“At the moment there is nothing to suggest that this incident was a case of deliberate criminal damage.

“That is why it is not being treated as such,’’ he added.

“Kirklees Council and the Government’s Highways Agency were contacted promptly about the damage to the property and the lamp-post.”
