Romance blossoms for hospice volunteers
CUPID has captured the hearts of a Kirkwood Hospice volunteer and supporter.
Love has blossomed between Richard Howatson who popped the question to Dorreen Williams five months after they met at a charity event.
Mr Howatson, founder of Cobwoods Engravers in Milnsbridge, had spoken to his wife-to-be on the phone many times before he finally met her last July.
But it was love at first sight between the couple who got engaged on Christmas Day.
Volunteer Dorreen, 66, of Mirfield, said: “Richard’s company supports the hospice and arranges trophies for prizes and presentations.
“We were at a charity event for the hospice in July and that is when hospice fundraiser Kate Leadbeater introduced us.
“The engagement was a nice surprise and we are very happy together.”
