The facilities at the club, which is run by volunteers as a charity, have recently been upgraded to provide disabled access.

Many of the activities youngsters can take part in are sports-based, but there is also other entertainment on offer and members also get the opportunity to go in trips.

The club is open to all youngsters, aged eight to 19. It is open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings from 6pm to 9pm and there is a 20p admission charge.

During the day, the club’s volunteers work with children from disadvantaged backgrounds, encouraging them to get off the streets and become involved in positive activities, including volunteering work.
