New home for river rescue dog; story and pictures
HERE’S a “tail” with a happy ending.
The dog nicknamed Houdini, who had a death-defying escape after being locked in a suitcase and thrown in a river, has a new home in Huddersfield.
The four-year-old managed to break free, despite the case being weighted down with stones, and scrambled to the bank of Batley Beck, off Carlinghow Hill.
She was taken in by a dog rescue charity but has now been given a new home by Upper Heaton man Alan Wraith.
She also has a new name, Milly.
Milly is now settling into the Wraith household in Bog Green Lane, which she shares with several cats and Mr Wraith’s youngest daughter, Celia, 14.
