Miracle dog Houdini gets a new home

Val Hosegood, who runs the rescue centre, said: “She is a very lucky dog.
“Not only was she able to escape from the river but she could so easily have been put down.
“We took her from the kennels, as we do with many other dogs to try and re-home them, and luckily for Milly, Mr Wraith came along.”
Dog warden David Salisbury said he had heard that a man had been standing for a while at a nearby bridge before throwing the suitcase into the Batley beck.
Luckily the water where the suitcase was thrown in was only shallow and Houdini/Milly scrambled free.
