New regional chairman for child charity

DAVID Wilson, managing partner for Begbies Traynor in the North East, has been appointed chairman of the Yorkshire Region of the Variety Club Children’s Charity.

He has been a full-time insolvency practitioner since 1979, both with medium and larger practices.

He was a partner with an international firm of accountants before the 1989 formation of Wilson Pitts with business partner Julian Pitts. Begbies Traynor acquired Wilson Pitts in June, 2006.

A member of the Variety Club Yorkshire committee for nine years, David has been vice chairman and also chairman of the charity’s Sunshine Coach Committee and organised a ball which raised £60,000.

He has also been involved in visiting families with disabled children, organisations, schools and hospitals who appeal to the Variety Club for funding to buy a wide range of equipment including sunshine coaches and wheelchairs.
