Open day aims to give cycle scheme a boost

“The Kirklees Bicycle User Group is doing an excellent job in raising awareness and promoting cycling and the improvement of cycling facilities.”
Kirklees Bicycle User Group was started in 1998 to encourage people to cycle to work.
Primarily this was for Kirklees employees but since that time others have been invited to join and it is now open to all cyclists.
It is a free campaigning group which works closely with the council Highways Service, and other organisations to improve and influence cycling facilities.
The group can be joined on Facebook, through an on-line form or by completing a leaflet at a library.
It has 436 members on email, 51 who receive messages to mobile phone, and some on Facebook.
