A HISTORIC war memorial has been repaired after being vandalised for a second time.
The war memorial in Norman Park at Birkby had two plaques ripped away.
The plaques – which bear names of Birkby and Fartown men killed fighting in the First World War – were reported missing on November 10.
Police found one nearby and Kirklees Council had it repaired.
The other plaque was not found and the council had a new one made.
Both plaques have now been put on the memorial.
It is the second time plaques have had to be replaced on the memorial.
