Kirkheaton man held in police raids targeting guns and drugs

A MAN was arrested after police raided two houses to target alleged gun and drug crime.
The 39-year-old was being questioned after officers swooped on a house at Cockley Hill Lane, Kirkheaton, on Saturday morning.
A house on nearby New Street was also raided by police with search warrants.
More than a dozen officers, including a forensics team, were reported to have been involved in the New Street raid.
Det Sgt Nigel Gittins said a number of items, including drugs, were found during the raids.
He added: “We have been doing some work regarding recent incidents around town and this was part of that.”
