Maternity services campaign's vigil for tragic baby Maisie

Clr Jackie Grunsell, a GP who was elected for the Crosland Moor and Netherton ward on a campaign platform called Save Huddersfield NHS, said: “Surely something like this has got to make them re-think.”

The Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust says Maisie’s death was an unavoidable tragedy and has refused to reconsider the changes to maternity provision.

Referring to the vigil a spokeswoman said: “We would like to thank the organisers for respecting that this is a working hospital and for making sure it didn’t interfere with the running of the hospital.”
