AN independent investigation into the shooting of a Brighouse man by police has continued over the weekend.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission is probing the circumstances surrounding the shooting of father-of-three Bartholomew Buckley, known as Baz.
Armed police had responded to a 999 call from a woman saying a man was threatening her at a house on Whinney Hill Park in Brighouse at 12.10am on Friday.
As events unfolded in the house he was hit with a Taser stun gun which fires wires carrying 50,000 volts.
Four shots were then fired, wounding 44-year-old Mr Buckley in his torso and arm.
He has had surgery and is in a serious but stable condition at Leeds General Infirmary.
Nicholas Long, IPCC Commissioner for Yorkshire and Humberside, said: “Our investigation will examine all aspects of this incident, from the decision to deploy firearms officers to the events in the house that resulted in the man receiving his injuries.”
