LITTLE Lewis Goral was excited about his new model car.
But what parents Leann and Tony were less thrilled about was a knife blade found inside the toy’s packaging.
Now the Beaumont Park couple are warning parents to be vigilant after the blade was found in one of four-year-old Lewis’s Christmas toys.
The couple were shocked when the craft knife blade was found in the packaging of a remote control car on Christmas Day.
Lewis had taken the car and its polystyrene casing out of the cardboard box when Leann spotted the blade.
She said: “It was quite scary as it was a hazard. It seems as if it was something being used in the factory.”
Leann, of Longden Avenue, quickly took the packaging from Lewis and recovered the 8cm long blade, which was the type that could be snapped off in sections.
About 4cm of the blade was covered in tape with oriental style writing on it. But 4cm of it was exposed, posing a potential danger.
The car was a Lunar Rescue Team vehicle made by Danbar International.
