Brazen would-be burglar

A WOULD-BE burglar put his getaway car across a driveway and stopped the victim from getting in.

He had smashed a window at the back of a house on Towngate in Upperthong and tried to force open a conservatory door.

But he was disturbed when the victim drove up at 3.45pm on Monday.

He found the driveway blocked by the suspect’s vehicle.

The intruder appeared in the garden and chatted to the victim for a few minutes, making up an excuse as to why he was there.

He then got in his car and drove off.

The victim then discovered the attempted burglary.

The would-be thief is a light-skinned African-Caribbean in his early 20s, just over 6ft tall and well-built.

His clothes were casual but smart. He wore a light-coloured jacket and hat.

He was driving a black Honda Civic hatchback and the number began XF57.
