Mourners pay tribute to David and Sally Firth

ALMOST 150 mourners paid tribute to Huddersfield couple David and Sally Firth, who were killed as they crossed a road before Christmas.

The mourners packed the Huddersfield Spiritualist Church on Old Leeds Road yesterday to say goodbye to the kind-hearted, charitable couple.

Friends said David and Sally, aged 43 and 41, would be greatly missed and they talked about their lives and achievements.

The Crosland Moor couple were killed on their way to a Christmas party in Sheffield on December 19.

They left behind a beloved dog, Janis, which they had rescued from a shelter.

The church president, Tom Mair, said the number of mourners was an indication of the “high esteem that Sally and David were held in”.

He said their deaths were a “gateway to continued lives in the spiritual world” and that they would be met by the “smiling faces of friends who had gone before them”.

The couple were big supporters of Blackpool-based charity Donna’s Dream House, which helps terminally ill children and their families.
