Samurai sword in Honley drug raid

A HONLEY man was arrested after police found cannabis plants and a Samurai sword at his home.

The 22-year-old was detained after the raid at a terraced house on Station Street on Monday morning.

Officers acted on a warrant to go into the house under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “We gained entry into the premises through the front door where drugs-related paraphernalia was found to have been wired to the electric meter and gas supply.

“Several mature plants were seized along with other items including a samurai sword.”

Insp Mark Trueman from The Valleys Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "If you suspect there is illegal cultivation or supply of cannabis, I would urge you to contact your local officer or Dob in a Dealer anonymously.”
